Personal security
In a robbery:
Minimize risk by:
- Cooperating — not resisting; following the robber’s directions, but volunteering nothing more than asked
- Staying calm
- Keeping hands in sight and making no sudden moves
- Avoid confrontation – items can be replaced, but people cannot!
Package and vehicle security
Security is enhanced when:
- Vehicles are kept in good condition with working locks
- Doors and windows are locked
- Personal items are kept out of view: stow it, don’t show it
- Individuals remain alert to their surroundings
Off-duty security is enhanced when:
- Off-duty vehicles are parked in well-lit areas
- Vehicles are not left running and unattended
- Doors are locked, including the bulkhead door, if applicable
- Appropriate locking devices are used
If a vehicle is broken into:
- Refrain from touching anything the burglar may have touched; surfaces can be used to gather fingerprints
- Report the incident to the police
- The service provider AO and/or BC should inform FXG management
