Many of you are aware I organized a meeting for the Colorado State Patrol to show up at FedEx and provide much needed information and a demonstration of a Level 1 inspection. Here are a few highlights:
- ELD’s: must be able to provide instruction for the officer to download your log. (I’ll be training you on this next week) Instruction card in cab.
- ELD should have your load information entered.
- ELD should have comments for duty status changes / just as a paper log required.
- Receipts not required but helpful.
- Used our truck for the level 1 inspection, no issues with our truck, 100% compliant. FedEx trailer was put out of service for worn airline under trailer, not visible unless physically under the trailer. FedEx: Visibly upset.
